Movies Under the Stars at Memorial Park

Grab the kids, some lawn chairs and a blanket and head down to Memorial Park for some after dark entertainment this summer as Movies in the Park offers four sure-to-please family flicks at the Pavilion.

An all star cast including Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon is featured in the first of three consecutive animated films, ‘Sing’, on July 21. ‘Moana’ starring Dwayne Johnson airs July 28, with ‘Dory’ playing August 18 starring Ellen Degeneres. The series wraps up August 25 with ‘Guardian’, a new offering with Chris Pratt in the star role.

“This is definitely a family attraction, and it’s free,” said co-ordinator Sarah Farrant. “Just bring a blanket and lawn chairs. We’ve made up promotional pin back buttons for each movie.” Vince’s Barbecue will be on hand selling barbecued food, popcorn and candy.

Perla Dental is the presenting sponsor for Movies in the Park, with Stouffville Toyota and the Stouffville Academy of Music and Dance the gold sponsors.

All films get underway at night fall, – approximately 9:30 p.m. Email to check for weather cancellations.
