Main Street Medical Office to Close
Patients advised to obtain medical records before July 17
The retirement of Dr. Patrick Wat, pictured above (left) with former colleagues Dr. Don Smith (centre) and the late Dr. Peter Izso, has resulted in the closing of the Downtown Stouffville health facility.
The medical office located at 6179 Main St. Stouffville is closing its doors.
The Downtown Stouffville health facility has lost its last remaining physician, Patrick Wat, to retirement this spring after 36 years at the centre. Dr. Wat had been the sole practitioner at the centre since the death of Dr. Peter Izso last fall. Former general practitioner Dr. Don Smith retired from the facility in 2013.
Dr. Wat’s former patients are being asked to come into the centre located at 6179 Main St. Stouffville from Monday through Thursdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. by July 17 to request a copy of their medical records. The CD containing these records can then be used to transfer to a new physician. There is a charge of $50 cash per patient for this service.
After July 31 all medical records will be stored at a secure commercial facility, with details regarding this facility to be posted outside the office.
