Extra-curriculars still suspended at area elementary schools
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario said Thursday they will not be offering extra-curricular activities despite their high school counterparts doing so.
According to the Federation, they want to see the provincial government take serious actions towards ending the protest before returning to sports and clubs.
The union, representing 76,000 public elementary teachers said that York Region will not consider asking parents to run after school activities like some school boards have done.
The gradual return of extra-curricular activities has occurred at region high schools after the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation asked members on February 22 to suspend their protesting.
